Next Booster Meeting: |
|
Hey everybody! Can you believe that September has flown by and October is here already?? We’ve just been so busy since school started. Thanks to everyone who has helped out with all the work that it takes to get the band and the school year started right. I have a lot of great helpers out there and I really appreciate every one of you!
Thank you to all you parents who came out to our September Booster meeting! It was a great crowd! That was probably the most attendance that we have ever had and it was wonderful to see. Be sure and mark the 2nd Tuesday of every month so that you can attend every month’s meeting at 7 pm in the band room.
I also want to thank the Total Logistic Control Corporation for the use of the truck again this year to pull our equipment trailer to away games and competitions. We really appreciate them for their donation. Most people have no idea how much it costs us to take our “stuff” to different places, but with TLC’s help, it has been a huge load off the band’s treasury. Thank you very much!!
Our band has had a busy month with lots of hard work and 2 competitions under their belts now. They received superior ratings across the board at both competitions. Please read more about their great accomplishments in the article in this newsletter. GREAT JOB, BAND!!
The Division I contest is coming up and I know all of you will be ready and willing to help on Saturday, November 1st. Each student is required to work the event and we could really use a member of each family to work as many hours as possible as well. It is a great chance to meet new parents and students, get involved, and have fun. Extra hands are always a blessing, so if you have other family members that would like to help- aunts, uncles, grandparents- we will gladly find a place for them to work. Thanks to the Division I chairs, Angie Ray, Karla Brown and Nancy Franklyn, who are working so diligently to make this a successful fundraiser for the band and a fun day for our visitors.
Our citrus fruit, nuts and fudge sale kicked off on September 30th and everyone’s participation is needed and encouraged. Sales come easy with these great products and are a wonderful way to fund your student’s fees for coming events, as well as next school year! Make sure and ask your student for the packet if you weren’t able to be at the kick-off meeting. The packets went home on Wednesday, October 1st and are filled with instructions, brochures and order forms. More forms are available if you need them. Good luck to everyone!
Make sure and keep up with all the latest info about the band on the website, www.riverdaleband.com. The site is updated almost daily and is the best source for news.
See you at the October meeting,
Keith |
