President's MESSAGE (continued) Basketball season starts this month as well.  Look elsewhere in this newsletter for more information concerning our involvement.

Mid-state auditions are December 2nd and 9th.  We have a number of our students auditioning.  Good luck to them!

Our Holiday concert is scheduled for December 4th.  The Murfreesboro Christmas Parade is December 10th.  There is no booster meeting in December or newsletter, so be sure to check the band website for the latest information on band events and news.

At our next Booster Meeting on the 14th there will be a representative from Thomas Tours to discuss the Spring trip to New York City.  Please make plans to attend this meeting.  The itineraries were handed out a couple of weeks ago.  If you haven't seen it yet, ask your student.  The trip deposit is due by November 15th, so plan on attending the meeting on the 14th if you or your student is interested in going on the trip to New York.

I hope all of you have a safe and fulfilling Thanksgiving. Don't eat too much!  Happy Holidays!!!

Basketball CONCESSION
Stand and Ticket Sales
The basketball season starts on November 20th (see calendars for freshmen and varsity games).  We will need students and adults to help in the concession stand and at the ticket booth.  Sign-up sheets will be in the band room on the Coke machine one week before the game.  Students will receive credit to go toward the spring band trip or their dues next year.  The credit received will depend on the profits made after the season is complete.  We had one student last year pay for his spring trip by working the basketball concession stand.

The concession chairperson and ticket sales chairperson will be calling for adult assistance!  The 2006-2007 chairpersons are Trina Clinton-Concessions and Becky Morgan-Ticket Sales.  Thank-you for helping with this fundraiser for the band when called upon.  We know you will do a great job!
The Riverdale Warrior Band is going to New York City!!!  The spring trip has been decided and we are headed to the "Big Apple"!  The students have received an intinerary and the information regarding cost and scheduled payments.  The first non-refundable payment of $75 is due on November 15th.

We will be seeing several sights in New York, some of which include the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Ground Zero, and much, much more!  Make plans now to join us for this exciting time with the band!  Students, work hard on selling fruit to help cut cost!

As stated, a Thomas Tour representative will be at the booster meeting to answer specific questions regarding the trip.  See band website for further details also.
