Happy Holidays!
Can you believe that it is December? Another year is almost over? The Warrior Band has had a great school year so far! Very busy for everybody! Since our last newsletter, our band has had two wonderful concerts, the Wind Ensemble Collaborative Concert on November 18 with the Oakland Wind Ensemble, and the annual Christmas Concert on December 9 at our school auditorium. The students really did a great job and it was a treat to listen to each performance. More about each concert is inside this edition of WARRIOR NOTES.
The band and boosters have also finished up the annual citrus fruit, pecans and fudge sale. Our numbers were down a bit this year, but it was not unexpected with the economy like it is. See Patti Powell’s sale wrap-up inside. Extra big THANKS! goes to Patti and her helpers for all their hard work on the sale. It couldn’t be done without them! The Christmas delivery and pick-up is still scheduled for this weekend, Saturday December 13, so don’t forget to check for the time that your student signed up to pick up his/her order. Please be prompt again in your deliveries to customers and make sure and thank them and wish each “happy holidays!”. Courtesy and cheerfulness goes a long way in maybe getting repeat business next year!
Congrats to all our students who auditioned for the senior high All-State/Mid-State bands on December 6. We had 12 musicians that made the bands. They are listed inside this issue. Great job! The freshmen that have decided to audition will be doing that Saturday, December 13 at McGavock High in Nashville. Good luck to them and we will talk more about them and the auditions in January’s edition.
The Christmas Parade is coming up this Sunday, December 14. Make sure and come out and watch the festivities! The Parade starts at 1:00 pm.
Thanks to everyone who has been such a big help to me in keeping the Booster Club going for our students! I could never do it without each of you! I hope that everyone has the best of holidays and that you all stay safe in any travels you may have!
See you in 2009! The next Booster meeting will be January 13.
