I want to welcome all of our new Freshmen and band members to the Riverdale Warrior Band! To those of you returning this year, welcome back to another exciting marching season! Band camp is finished and has been declared a tremendous success. The students' determination and enthusiasm over our new Led Zeppelin show far outweighed the oppressive 90+ degree heat.
I want to thank everyone who helped with concessions during band camp and the cookout. A big thank you to Ann Rossman and Terri Cole for coordinating student snacks and staff lunches, and to Paul Schoenfeld for manning the grill! I especially appreciate all the parents who sent in food, worked the breaks, fed the staff, and helped with the cookout. We could not have had a successful band camp without all your hard work and dedication, and it certainly would not have been as much fun!
Speaking of dedication, I want to thank all the students and parents who sacrificed their time to improve the concession stand and the band room. If you have not seen it yet, prepare to be amazed at what a little elbow grease and paint can do! Many thanks to: Jeff and Megan Brown, Terri and Patrick Cole, Austin Fann, Lindsey Franklyn, Lisa, Steve and McKinzy Hart, Karen Houze, James Lee, Nathan Jones, Chris and Phil Patterson, Ethan and Hailey Patrick, Angie and Brandon Ray, Gary, Emily, and Julie Reed, Hugh Schmidt, Paul Schoenfeld and Daniel Tenpenny. Great job you guys!
More thanks to everyone that worked the Picnic at HV Griffin Park on Sunday. We earned $1200.00 toward continued renovations and our general fund!
Last but not least, a big round of applause for our Uniform Committee, Karla Brown, Jennifer Lebechuck, Lisa McAnally, and of course Renee Nieciecki and Annette Picklesimer. Thank you for helping our kids look great in their uniforms! Thanks also to those parents who helped with uniform checkout nights. You are an awesome team!
I encourage everyone to join us at the annual covered dish dinner on Thursday, August 7th. There is no better time to meet new people and form friendships in our RHS Warrior Band family. With good music, great food and lots of fellowship - how can you go wrong?
