Competitive and Non-Competitive Marching Band

The Riverdale Marching Band enjoys a reputation for musical excellence. Continuing this tradition of success requires a high degree of dedication, effort, and pride by each person involved. The marching band is one group involving all members with a competitive and non-competitive make-up. Students who have school related activities during the fall which conflict with marching rehearsals and Friday night games (i.e. football, certain athletics, etc.) participate in the non-competitive band. These members are still required to perform in pep rallies, parades, and in the stands during home games. These students do not participate in rehearsals for the competition show, but may be required to attend brief afternoon rehearsals in preparation for homecoming, parades, and other events. Students involved in this manner should see the directors for a detailed list of required activities and expectations.
