Riverdale Band Student or Parent Alumnus:
Greetings
from the Riverdale High School Warrior Band and Band Boosters!
As
you may or may not have heard, Riverdale High School has just undergone a long
awaited renovation which included the Band Room. This is the first addition to the band area in the nearly thirty-six
year history of the school! We are very
excited and proud of our new home which includes an acoustically designed
ensemble room, percussion room, locker room, band office, library, and four
private practice rooms. Our students have
been anxious to get started this year and put these new areas to good use!
The
current band booster organization felt this would be a good time to invite
Riverdale Band alumni (both students and/or parents) to an open house to tour
and see our new facilities. We would
like to host you at a cook-out before the Riverdale Warrior home football game
against the Dickson County Cougars on Friday, September 26th, at
6:00 P.M.!
There
has been interest expressed in organizing an alumni group to work closely with
the band booster organization in areas such as scholarships, publicity,
corporate sponsorships, and fundraising.
This would include an alumni link on the band website for alumni news and
band updates to help our alumni who are even many miles away keep in contact. With that in mind, we have enclosed a form
to fill out and return if you are interested in participating. There is also a place to R.S.V.P. for the
cook-out. We hope this will be the
first of many RHS Band alumni gatherings!
As
with any renovation, there are needs that are not met through the initial
funding phase. The attached "Wish
List" includes some of the items the Riverdale Band drastically needs to
be able to continue to excel musically.
If you are unable to participate in the alumni organization or would
just like to help your alma mater out, please consider filling out the enclosed
form with a tax-deductible donation or pick from one of the listed items.
We
look forward to meeting you and renewing old friendships at the first annual
Riverdale Band Alumni Cook-Out/Open House.
Please make plans now to attend and tour the new facilities, share some
good food and band stories with old friends, and watch the 2008-2009 Riverdale
High School Warrior Band perform their show at halftime! Go Warriors!!
